Château Bouscassé is the original home of Alain Brumont. The soil here is different from Montus, being clay, limestone and grès, a limestone rock. The vines - made up of 70% Tannat, 25% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Cabernet Franc - are much older, between 60-85 years old. The red Bouscassé is made up of 65% Tannat, 25% Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% Cabernet Franc, picked by hand, destemmed, with a cuvaison of 4 weeks then aged in one or two year old barrels for around 12 months.
