This is the first batch of three inaugural releases from Lagg Distillery � a heavily peated single malt, matured in ex-bourbon casks and bottled in 2022..

This heavily peated single malt Scotch whisky was distilled twice, before maturing for two and a half years in bourbon casks, and finishing for six months in custom made oloroso sherry Firkin casks. Bottled in 2022 at 50% ABV, non-chill filtered and with no additional colour,.

As with Batch 1 and 2, Batch 3 is double distilled from 50ppm peated Concerto malted barley. Batch 3 was matured in first-fill bourbon casks for two and a half years, before finishing in custom made rioja red wine Firkin casks for six months. Bottled at 50% ABV, without added colour or chill filtration, layers of red fruit join the earthy peat at the core of this single malt.

In 2017, we began building our distillery and its magnificent visitor centre. Two years later, we opened our doors to the waiting world.

Our architects have created a spectacular building to echo the contours of Arran as you’d see it from Ailsa Craig.

Its dramatic roofs are covered with a sedum blanket. This contains a mix of plants that change colour with the seasons.

Our custom-made copper pot stills were installed on the distillery floor in August 2018, and now sit proudly alongside our mash tun and four traditional wooden washbacks.

The first middle cut of spirit was recorded at 14.35 on Tuesday 19th March 2019.

Collection
