Hugel & Fils was founded in 1639, it is still 100% family-owned and is managed by the 12th consecutive generation today. Owners of a 70-acre estate in Riquewihr in prime sites, more than half of which are Grand Cru, planted with only the noble grape varieties of Alsace. The Hugel family were the pioneers of late-harvest Alsace wines, drafting a law enshrining their production in 1984. Hugel & Fils are members of the Primum Familiae Vini - an exclusive association of some of the world's most prestigious wine dynasties.
Made exclusively from hand-harvested grapes from predominantly clay and limestone vineyards, in a dozen of the most favoured localities in and around Riquewihr. A cool and long growing season give this unique dry wine great finesse and unequalled intensity. Dry but intensely aromatic.
